The return of Vic Valentine: FATE IS MY PIMP and ROMANCE TAKES A RAIN CHECK

After a 15 year hiatus, the further exploits of Vic Valentine Private Eye are finally going into print and coming to an online bookstore near anyone with a computer. I've actually written four sequels to LOVE STORIES ARE TOO VIOLENT FOR ME, issued in 1996 by Wild Card Press in San Francisco, now out of print, but they've never been published - until now. The second and third Vic novels, FATE IS MY PIMP and ROMANCE TAKES A RAIN CHECK, are my next fiction project. That's singular because I'm publishing them under a single cover as a "Vic Valentine Double Feature." I then plan to publish the fourth and fifth Vic novels, I LOST MY  HEART IN HOLLYWOOD and DIARY OF A DICK, as another "double feature," and then possibly finish the incomplete sixth Vic novel, HARD-BOILED HEART, published as a standalone along with an unpublished Vic short story I wrote years ago. I figure I have a lot of catching up to do. I've wasted too much time already. My movie programming/hosting career was merely a lengthy interlude, a distraction from what I deem to be my true destiny. I'm back now, and more creatively satisfied than ever. Hopefully this new edition of Vic Valentine adventures will be published by this April. My man R. Black, who created many iconic Thrillville posters as well as the cover for DOWN A DARK ALLEY,  is doing the cover. Stay tuned to this blog and the Vic Valentine, Private Eye Facebook Page for updates. Cheers.

Here is the planned back cover blurb:

FATE IS MY PIMP picks up the torrid trail of Vic Valentine, Private Eye as he traverses the mean streets of San Francisco and beyond in search of a mobster's missing teenage daughter, encountering various voluptuous vixens, a female surf band, and a stalker leaving him mysterious musical messages, all while infiltrating an Elvis-theme commune for runaways led by a deviously decadent Deacon Rivers. Follow the further misadventures of the misguided misfit introduced in LOVE STORIES ARE TOO VIOLENT FOR ME as he continues looking for love in all the wrong places, and unfortunately for him - finding it.

ROMANCE TAKES A RAIN CHECK finds Vic back on the East Coast, tracking down a lead on his cop father's killer, visiting his mother in the asylum, and reuniting with his high school sweetheart, Dolly Duncan, now married to a doper dentist. Nothing is what it seems, times and people have changed, and Vic is going to learn the hard way - again - that some bones, and boners, are best left buried.
