From Thrillville to Chillville to Quillville
With Mel of Meshugga Beach Party, Ferenc of Pollo del Mar, and Monica, Tiki Goddess: my new "team" at my new home base, Forbidden Island (SF Chronicle photo)
It's official: Peter Hartlaub's interview with me in the San Francisco Chronicle printed on the cover of today's Datebook section confirms that I've moved on from being "the Parkway guy" to my own unique entity, a published pulp fiction author with a new home base, Forbidden Island Tiki Lounge, where I host my new film series, Forbidden Thrills. Other recent articles like Angela Woodall's piece for the Oakland Tribune and Bay Area Newsgroup, and Cheryl Eddy's blog for the San Francisco Bay Guardian provide further evidence of this successful, if sometimes arduous and awkward, transition.
It's been a long road to get where I am right now. I'm happy to be here.
My new film series "Forbidden Thrills" - Cult Movies & Cocktails - happens one Monday a month at Forbidden Island, no cover, free popcorn - complete schedule here
You can - and should! - order a copy of my latest novel, "A Mermaid Drowns in the Midnight Lounge," and its companion CD, an original "book score" by Actual Rafiq, "Music for a Drowning Mermaid," here.
Both will be available via mainstream retail outlets in a month or so, but don't wait!
Cheers and thanks for the support, WillAnd here is the *rest* of your blog. Replace all the text between the "span" tags completely.
